T is for...Target Comes to Canada
As the discount-retail chain prepares to roll out 125 locations across Canada next year, it’s already planted the seeds for cheap-and-chic Canadian collaborations by way of partnerships with the Toronto Fashion Incubator and Fondation de la mode de Montréal to support budding local talent. Adding to the rush of American retailers into Canada, Ann Taylor finally set up shop at Toronto’s Eaton Centre this fall, and Nordstrom followed suit with plans to build four locations this side of the border by 2016. Capping a year of stellar shopping news, Bloomingdales announced it’s in talks to open small-scale shops inside Hudson’s Bay Company stores.
