Lush Yuge Hair Treatment, $11,
The claim (in our own words): “This mask is loaded up with sea salt for volume and texture, jojoba oil for shine and guar gum for weightless conditioning.”
The conclusion: “Since my hair is super fine, I’ve always thought hair masks aren’t for me, presumably weighing down my already flat strands. But when I read about this one and the volume it allegedly could give me, I was intrigued. I mixed it with boiling water (proceed with caution), waited for it to cool and applied it to my scalp. The fragrance is super minty which is great for a morning pick-me-up, and it didn’t run too much while I was waiting the prescribed 20 minutes. I rinsed it out, both with water and shampoo and conditioner, which wasn’t difficult, and then styled my hair as I normally would. The difference was definitely noticeable. My hair looked thicker, and definitely didn’t feel weighed down. That effect didn’t last right to the end of the day, unfortunately, but I got a solid six hours out of it, which makes this perfect for a pre-special occasion treatment.” —Tara MacInnis, associate fashion & beauty editor
